Our Approach

Dr. Nicholas Ward, Ph.D. – CSO & Founder

With over 35 years of global experience in behavioral traffic safety, Dr. Ward is an internationally recognized expert in transforming Traffic Safety Culture and implementing the Safe System Approach in traffic safety planning.

He serves on the EU-funded TRUST project , which aims to strengthen Traffic Safety Culture across Europe by providing tools and strategies that organizations and communities use in traffic safety planning.

Dr. Ward has guided the development of Strategic Highway Safety Plans (SHSPs) across North America — including California, Kansas, Oregon, Minnesota, Montana, Washington, Ontario, and Canada — and has evaluated SHSPs in all U.S. states to identify best practices supporting Vision Zero goals.
